AMA Arts Scholarship, also known as AMA+ Scholarship is indeed one of the most prestigious and sought-after scholarships for students worldwide who want to study arts in South Korea on a fully funded scholarship. However, it is essential to carefully go through the eligibility criteria for the AMA Arts Scholarship before submitting your applications.

Let us break down the eligibility criteria for you into 8 points:
1) Nationality Requirement:
- Only who hold citizenship of OECD DAC recipient countries both the applicant and his/her parents.
- In case of dual citizenship, both citizenships need to belong to OECD DAC Recipient countries for both the applicant and his/her parents.

2) Academic Requirement:
- One of the eligibility criteria for AMA Arts Scholarship is that the applicants must have completed or be expected to have completed secondary education or bachelor degree program prior to admission to K-Arts.
- Applicants who apply for the bachelor’s program must hold high school diploma. Students from a country with fewer than 12 years of preliminary and secondary school education will be considered eligible if they have completed an educational program recognized by the Korean Ministry of Education as being equivalent to high school graduates.
- Applicants who apply for the master’s program must hold a Bachelor’s degree or a diploma that is equivalent to or higher than a Bachelor’s degree.
- Applicants who are expecting to graduate by 28th Feb 2024 must submit a certificate of expectant graduation when applying, and submit the official certificate of graduation (degree or diploma) to K-Arts no later than 28th Feb 2024.
- Applicants expecting to graduate by 28th Feb. 2024 needs to prove that they are subject to exemption for Korean Language training, holding TOPIK level 5 or above. Otherwise, all final grantees need to join Korean Language training starting from September 2023.
3) Language Requirement :
- The eligibility criteria for AMA Arts Scholarship states that the applicants need to meet the required Korean proficiency level that each department sets when applying. Valid TOPIK score is necessary but when it is not possible to submit the valid test score, its equivalent such as certificate of course completion issued by the King Sejong Institute or by a Korean language institute run by Korean universities issued within 2 years will also be considered.
- Applicants who passed document screening regardless valid TOPIK score is subject to take Korean Language Test run by K-Arts, however its result will only be referred as complementary material and will NOT substitute TOPIK score.

4) Artistic Talent :
- K-Arts has a very practical and comprehensive major curriculum to raise professional artists. Therefore, applicants must meet the required skills and talents through the submission of portfolios as required by each department/major unless written as “portfolio not required”.

5) Health :
- All applicants applying for the AMA Arts Scholarship must be in good health, both mentally and physically, to study in Korea for the duration of degree programs.
6) Entry to Korea :
- Eligibility criteria for AMA Arts Scholarship mentions that the final Grantees must arrive in Korea and join the scheduled Korean language training before joining the degree program unless he/she already holds TOPIK level 5 or above.
- All grantees are expected to enter Korea latest by the beginning of September 2023 while TOPIK level 5~6 holders are exempted to join language training.
7) Condition of Reapplying of grantees of other Korean government-sponsored
scholarship:
- Those who have been benefited from other Korean government scholarship degree program including GKS(former KGSP) cannot apply.
- Only those who have successfully graduated with the cumulative grade point average(CGPA) of 80% or above or the ranking in the top 20% on a 100-point scale in their previous degree program as a valid TOPIK level 5 or above holder can apply for the higher degree program.
8) Condition of Reapplying of AMA+ Scholarship Grantees:
- Those who have been selected but either withdrew the admission offer, or gave up the scholarship during the study period, or have been expelled as a disciplinary measure cannot reapply.
- For AMA+ graduates, those who have passed over 4 years after graduation can only apply for higher degree program
